Kommentar/Beschreibung

In this class we will work on ideas to facilitate the transition from primary to secondary foreign language teaching. Major problems of the transition between primary and secondary foreign language teaching are the lack of information, communication and cooperation between the teachers of the two levels. Often teachers have little knowledge about “the other”. This is why, this class is specifically meant for both: primary and secondary students. Together, we will analyse conditions, requirements and learning cultures of the respective teaching situations. Recent research issues as well as models of good practice in the field of transition will be presented and discussed. Based on these insights we will develop “bridging-tasks” with the aim to guarantee a continuous skill and competence development in the EFL classroom.
